How to use this plan

Every session fits ~30 minutes: 5 min warm-up, ~20 min on the day's exercises, 5 min improvising freely with what you learned. A metronome is non-negotiable — start every drill slow and clean, then raise the tempo only when it's flawless.

Standard tuning, key of A is home base (open position and 5th fret) because it sits well for blues and shares shapes with E. Days marked backing track mean: pull up a free “slow blues in A” or “blues shuffle in A” jam track on YouTube and play along.

A note on the diagrams: where you see something like A string / 2nd fret, that's string then fret. “Root” = the note that names the chord (the A note for an A7 chord). Every exercise has a Why & how toggle — open it the first time you hit a drill, then collapse it once it clicks.

Reading the tabs: each line is a string (top line = high E, bottom = low E); numbers are frets. b = bend, r = release, ~ = vibrato, / = slide, h = hammer-on, p = pull-off, x = muted. A number in parentheses like 8b(10) means bend the 8th fret up until it sounds like the 10th. Tempo goals at the top of each week tell you what to hit before moving on.
